What is a Microgreen?
Microgreens are vegetable greens which are the next grow phase after a sprout. They are harvested 7-10 days after planting. They are nutrient dense and are used not only to enhance the taste and texture of food but also a nutrtional supplement. Microgreens have a surprising amount of flavor.

Broccoli Microgreen Benefits
Broccoli microgreens have gained popularity due to their high nutrient density. Broccoli microgreens are typically harvested 10-12 days after germination, when they are packed with immense concentration of vitamins, minerals, and photochemical.
Broccoli microgreens contain high levels of the phytonutrient glucoraphanin. When broccoli microgreens are chewed/ingested, glucoraphanin mixes with the enzyme myrosinase. When these two compounds mix and reach, they produce sulforaphane.
There are numerous scientific studies that have demonstrated that sulforaphane possesses exceptional antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These properties have been linked to many health benefits including cancer prevention, cardiovascular protection as well as supporting hormone balance.
Sulforaphane has been found to support detoxification processes in the body. It enhances the activity of enzymes involved in phase II detoxification which is crucial for eliminating harmful substances from the body.
